Everything I Eat: The Day Before My Injectables Appointment

The first time I ever booked an appointment to have injectables, I was so nervous that I completely forgot everything the receptionist listed to-do and not-to-do, prior to my appointment.

Everything I Eat: The Day Before My Injectables Appointment

At JECT, we do everything to ensure pre-care instructions are over-communicated, I’m the type of person who learns best by seeing examples. Here’s everything I do before my injectable appointment, with those pre-care instructions in the back of my mind and optimal treatment results at the very forefront of my mind.

One Week Prior (Monday)

Today is Monday and I’m scheduled to have my routine treatments of Facial Fillers and Wrinkle Reducers, this upcoming Friday at 4pm.

I took my travel sized bottle of Ibuprofen out of my purse to ensure I’m not tempted to ease even the slightest headache this week. I like to ensure I minimize the chance of bruising or bleeding during treatment, so I do my best to avoid blood-thinning medications like Ibuprofen or Aspirin. If you’re hesitant or have heart issues, be sure to give your doctor a quick ring.

2 Days Prior (Wednesday)

The same goes for my beloved Glycolic Acid pads. I’m omitting them starting today, and I’ll be back on my chemical exfoliant game starting Tuesday or Wednesday…

1 Day Prior (Thursday)

Lunch from Juice Press

Via Instagram: @equinox

It’s busy day at JECT West Village and it flies right because I love what I do! What I’m not going to let fly by is my lunch, ensuring I’m nourishing my brain and body. While I’m not Celiac, nor am I lactose intolerant, I personally like to avoid allergens like gluten and dairy 24 hours before my appointment to maximize my immune system’s ability to heal as quickly as possible. I’m not a member at Equinox, but they let me sneak in to grab-and-go from the Juice Press location inside.

Roasted Veggie Salad - Kale, Cauliflower, Red Peppers, Squash, Zucchini, Pumpkin Seeds, comes dressed with a light vinaigrette (Dairy-free and Gluten-free)

Pesto Mushroom Noodle Jar - Brown Rice Noodles, Cremini Mushrooms, Walnut Pesto (Dairy-free and Gluten-free)

Dinner at Dante

I have a weekly standing dinner with my best friend every Thursday. For dinner, we snagged a reservation on Resy at Dante in the West Village. Among the amazing vibe and great food, one of my favorite things about Dante is their incredible selection of non-alcoholic cocktails. They’re seriously so good that sometimes I forget I’m even having a sober night out. It’s best to avoid drinking alcohol the day before your injectables appointment.

First Beverage: The Dante Spritz, non-alcoholic version of an Aperol Spritz

Appetizer: Sant' Andrea calamari & spicy marinara sauce (Dairy-free and Gluten-free)

Main Course: Roasted branzino, salmoriglio sauce, roasted zucchini  (Dairy-free and Gluten-free)

Second Beverage: The Whiskey & Orange, non-alcoholic version of an Old Fashioned

Breakfast from Starbucks

I bet you didn’t expect to hear me say I have a Frapuccino the morning before my appointment, did you?! I order from the Starbucks app, so it’s super easy to make a few modifications that will turn the frap from indulgent to fitness influencer worthy.

Grande Coffee Frappuccino

Milk: Almond Milk

Blended Options: Add a Banana, Reduce the Frappuccino Roast from 3 pumps to 1 pump to avoid overdoing the caffeine.

Flavors: 1 pump Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup

Toppings: Cinnamon Powder

Lunch from Beyond Sushi

Another busy day at JECT West Village so we ordered delivery from one of our favorite vegan spots, Beyond Sushi. It’s important to try and eat something naturally packed with vitamins so that your stomach is full and your body is strong prior to treatment.

First Roll: Spicy Mang - Black rice, avocado, mango, cucumber, veggie slaw, toasted cayenne sauce  (Dairy-free and Gluten-free)

Second Roll: Sweet Tree - Black rice, avocado, sweet potato, alfalfa sprouts, toasted cayenne sauce  (Dairy-free and Gluten-free)

Appointment at JECT West Village, 4pm

Just hopped in the treatment chair, enjoying my favorite Rufus Du Sol song that just came on the speakers and sipping a nice refreshing glass of filtered water that reception brought me.
